Matilde Casazola

Matilde Casazola Mendoza (born 1942) is a Bolivian songwriter.
Matilde was one of the most famous poets and songwriters of Bolivia. Many of her songs are filled with detail and lyrics. Her poems are very famous to those in her home country. She started to become famous at age 11 by her poems.
She was born in the city of Sucre. She was a teacher by trade, her compositions have been adapted and recorded by Bolivian artist like Emma Junaro, Luis Rico and Jenny Cardenas.
Her legacy includes the following works:
Los ojos abiertos (1967), Los cuerpos (1967), Una revelación (1967), Los racimos (1985), Amores de alas fugaces (1986), Estampas, meditaciones, cánticos (1990) y El espejo del ángel (1991).
